IDR is seeking a Senior Infrastructure DBA to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Atlanta, Georgia. This role involves working within a large-scale SQL environment, focusing on platform layer management such as SQL clusters, server-side tuning, configurations, failover, logs, and metrics. The organization operates primarily in the infrastructure space, emphasizing technical expertise behind the scenes without direct data handling.
Position Overview for the Senior Infrastructure DBA
- Manage and support SQL cluster environments, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery.
- Perform server-side tuning, configuration, and analysis of logs and system metrics to optimize performance.
- Collaborate closely with DevOps and DBA teams while maintaining an autonomous approach.
- Support hybrid and cloud environments, with potential migration to Azure on the horizon.
- Work primarily in a Windows environment with Linux experience considered a plus.
Requirements for the Senior Infrastructure DBA:
- 7+ years of experience with a focus on infrastructure and platform rather than data administration.
- Strong knowledge of SQL clustering, tuning, and system optimization.
- Proven experience with Windows servers; Linux knowledge is a plus.
- Familiarity with large-scale environments involving numerous servers and virtual machines.
- Prior experience with cloud environments, especially Azure, is desirable.
