RIVA Solutions supports Federal customers in advancing sound financial management, reporting accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness across complex environments. Our teams help agencies strengthen financial operations, improve reporting integrity, and meet critical Treasury and government-wide reporting requirements.
This role supports federal financial reporting and compliance efforts through preparation of financial statements, Treasury submissions, reconciliations, and audit support activities that are essential to effective fiscal stewardship and mission accountability.
Position Overview
RIVA Solutions is seeking a Senior Accountant with strong experience in federal financial reporting, GTAS submissions, reconciliations, and audit readiness. This role is responsible for supporting the preparation and review of financial statements and footnotes, validating trial balance data, reconciling budgetary reporting, and helping ensure compliance with federal accounting and Treasury reporting requirements.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong command of federal accounting principles, analytical rigor, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams to support accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting.
Core Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal financial statements and related footnotes in accordance with OMB A-136 requirements
- Perform GTAS submissions and research, troubleshoot, and resolve validation errors
- Support preparation and reconciliation of SF-133, Statement of Budgetary Resources (SBR), and other budgetary reporting
- Conduct trial balance validation, flux analysis, and variance analysis to identify discrepancies
- Perform detailed account analysis and support development and documentation of financial adjustments
- Serve as an audit liaison, supporting Prepared by Client (PBC) requests and audit follow-ups
- Ensure compliance with USSGL and Treasury reporting requirements
- Collaborate with financial systems and program teams to validate data integrity and support reliable reporting outcomes
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 7–10 years of federal accounting experience
- Demonstrated experience preparing federal financial statements and footnotes
- Strong expertise with GTAS, SF-133, and SBR reconciliations
- Knowledge of USSGL and Treasury reporting requirements
- Experience with Oracle Federal Financials or similar systems
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- U.S. Citizenship required with ability to obtain and maintain a Federal clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or CPA candidate
- Experience supporting federal audits (IG or Independent Public Accountant)
- Experience working in complex, compliance-driven federal financial environments
- Ability to interpret reporting requirements and translate them into accurate, actionable financial outputs
Salary
Up to $120,000 annually, based on experience
