The Opportunity
RIVA Solutions is seeking a Business Analyst to support our client on the USPTO Support Services contract. In this fully remote role, the Business Analyst will serve as a critical bridge between stakeholders and the development team—translating business needs into clearly defined technical requirements for ServiceNow implementations and related IT projects.
The ideal candidate will bring a collaborative mindset and a strong understanding of both business process design and ServiceNow capabilities. You will facilitate meetings, elicit and document requirements, support testing efforts, and ensure that business solutions align with organizational goals.
Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document functional and non-functional requirements for IT systems, with an emphasis on ServiceNow solutions
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings and requirements workshops to define project scope, objectives, and priorities
- Translate business needs into technical requirements, user stories, process flows, and data models
- Collaborate with developers and solution architects to ensure accurate implementation of requirements
- Support the development and execution of user acceptance testing (UAT), including test case development and defect tracking
- Conduct business process analysis and recommend process improvements aligned with system capabilities
- Maintain clear documentation and support traceability from requirements through to deployment
- Ensure ongoing alignment between delivered solutions and evolving stakeholder needs
Qualifications
Required:
- U.S. Citizenship (required for federal clearance eligibility)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in business analysis for IT projects
- Proven ability to gather, document, and manage technical and functional requirements
- Experience working with or implementing ServiceNow solutions
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders and facilitate meetings
- Experience supporting UAT, writing test cases, and validating solutions against business needs
- Proficiency in business process documentation and using tools such as Confluence, Jira, Visio, or similar
Desired:
- Experience supporting federal agencies or government contracting clients
- Business Analyst certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, or equivalent
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools
Salary:
$90,000 - $110,000 Depending on Experience
